We have a seal may take on our slate floor to water-based, and we are looking dosnt, and we'd rather put a seal on the glosses.

You should be able to a stripper to remove the seal to get clean and seal the floor again. it would be best able to a place call boxes sold, you are moving in the right direction
The now not so well, but the soil will be removed with a chemical (I think) and then closed again.
